mary williams - photography + creative work

creativity has been my lifelong companion, guiding me through a diverse array of artistic pursuits—from fashion design to digital art, and everything in between. yet, with so many avenues to explore, my challenge has always been picking which one to pursue.

photography and videography have been a passion of mine since my high school days. I used to set up photoshoots with my friends, and make YouTube vlogs to hone my camera and editing skills. the more I worked at it, the more my confidence grew, fueled by the joy of capturing moments through my lens.

currently, I’m the executive pastry chef at a local bakery, where part of my job is to oversee social media and lead creative projects. while baking is fulfilling, my heart yearns for a career in media. through my role, I've rediscovered my love for photo and video, and have set my sights on the world of sports.

surprisingly, I didn't grow up playing sports; instead, I took art classes, dance, and was always quite introverted. but as an adult, I've developed a deep passion for basketball, and found comradery among like minded fans. I’m particularly drawn to the creative narratives that surround the game. as an avid Lakers fan, I'm captivated by the storytelling displayed in team social media, as well as player-driven projects, such as D’Angelo Russell’s “Backyard Podcast”.

for me, the allure of sports media lies in its storytelling, its flair, and its artistry. It's about documenting the drama of every game and the unique journeys of each player. being behind the lens allows you to capture history in the making.

now that i’ve decided to pursue sports media, i’m looking for every opportunity that I can find to gain experience and knowledge from those that I look up to the most. i’m based in California but very open to travel for projects. I'm a dedicated, hard worker who thrives on challenges and is always striving for improvement, and I feel that I would be a valuable addition to any team.
